Microsoft Power Pages

Give customers, vendors and staff a way to serve themselves.

A surprising proportion of any back office exists to answer questions that the asker could answer themselves: where is my order, has my invoice been paid, what is my leave balance, why was my payment short. Each one arrives as an email and leaves as an interruption.

Power Pages is Microsoft's low-code platform for external-facing sites built directly on Dataverse. Because the portal reads and writes the same records as your Dynamics 365 environment, there is no synchronisation layer to build and nothing to reconcile.

Portals we typically build

01

Customer self-service — order and delivery status, invoice and statement access, case logging and tracking.

02

Vendor and supplier portals — purchase order acknowledgement, invoice submission, document expiry and compliance records.

03

Employee self-service — leave requests, payslip access, document downloads and personal data updates.

04

Partner and dealer portals — pricing, stock visibility, claims and order placement.

05

Application and onboarding portals — structured intake with document upload and approval workflow.

Security

Security is the first design decision

External portals expose internal data by definition, so the access model is where the design starts, not where it finishes. Power Pages provides authentication through Microsoft Entra, Entra External ID, or local accounts, with table and column-level permissions governing exactly which records a signed-in user may see.

For anything touching payroll, pricing or personal data we document the permission model explicitly and test it with the client before launch.

Power Pages

Practical for this market

  • Bilingual portals with Arabic right-to-left layout alongside English.
  • Document expiry tracking for trade licences, visas, insurance certificates and Emirates ID — a recurring GCC requirement.
  • Mobile-first layouts, because most portal users in this region arrive on a phone.
  • Branding aligned to your existing site, so the portal does not feel like a different company.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from a normal website?

A normal website publishes content. Power Pages authenticates users and gives them controlled access to live business records, with the ability to create and update them.

Can it connect to Business Central?

Yes, through Dataverse integration or connectors, depending on the data and the volume involved.

How is it licensed?

Power Pages is licensed by authenticated and anonymous user capacity. We model expected volumes during scoping so the running cost is known before you commit.

Does it support Arabic?

Yes, including right-to-left layout.

How long does a portal take to build?

A focused self-service portal typically runs six to ten weeks depending on the number of processes and the complexity of the permission model.
