Dynamics 365 Upgrade & Re-implementation Services

Your AX or NAV system still works. That is exactly why the upgrade keeps getting deferred.

A large number of UAE organisations are still running Dynamics AX 2009 or 2012, Dynamics NAV, or Dynamics GP. The systems function, the users know them, and the business case for change never quite reaches the top of the list. Meanwhile mainstream support has passed, the customisations have accumulated, and the UAE e-invoicing mandate has introduced a deadline that legacy versions cannot meet without significant work.

There are two honest routes forward, and the right one depends on how much of your current configuration still reflects how you actually operate.

Upgrade or re-implement

A technical upgrade carries your existing configuration, customisations and data forward. It is faster and less disruptive, and it is the right answer when the current system genuinely fits the business and the customisations still earn their place.

A re-implementation starts from standard functionality and brings across master data and open transactions only. It takes longer, but it retires a decade of accumulated workarounds and puts you on a platform that can take Microsoft's twice-yearly updates without breaking.

We do not have a house preference. The assessment determines which applies, and it is common to find that different modules warrant different answers.

What the assessment covers

Before recommending an upgrade or re-implementation, we examine the technical, operational, licensing and compliance factors that determine the right path forward.

01

Customisation inventory — what exists, what is used, and what standard functionality has since replaced.

02

Data volume and quality — including history retention requirements and migration considerations.

03

Integration inventory — identifying existing integrations and the effort required to re-point each one.

04

Licensing implications — including the commercial difference between the two routes.

05

Compliance gaps — particularly UAE e-invoicing and KSA ZATCA readiness.

06

Phased delivery plan — with effort, timeline and a fixed-price proposal for the delivery phase.

Compliance Driver

The compliance timeline is now the upgrade timeline.

For UAE businesses this is no longer a purely technical decision. E-invoicing becomes mandatory from 1 January 2027 for businesses with revenue at or above AED 50 million, with an accredited service provider required beforehand.

Legacy Dynamics versions have no supported path to compliance, which means the upgrade timeline and the compliance timeline are now the same timeline.

Organisations planning to be compliant on day one need to be in delivery well before that date, not still assessing.

Why Dynamics Center

Our approach is designed to reduce unnecessary disruption while giving organisations a clear, controlled path from legacy Dynamics to a supported and compliant platform.

01

Assess Before We Recommend

We assess your existing environment before recommending a route and will tell you if your current system does not need replacing yet.

02

Fixed-Price Delivery

Once the assessment is complete, delivery is based on a fixed-price proposal rather than an open-ended estimate.

03

Controlled Stabilisation

We run legacy and new systems in parallel through a defined stabilisation period to reduce transition risk.

04

Compliance Built In

Compliance readiness is built into the upgrade rather than being treated as a separate project later.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an AX 2012 to Finance & Operations upgrade take?

Typically six to twelve months depending on customisation volume, integrations and the number of legal entities. The assessment produces a specific timeline rather than a range.

Can we keep our customisations?

Some, and often fewer than expected. A meaningful proportion of legacy customisation exists to fill gaps that standard functionality has since closed. We identify those explicitly.

What about our historical data?

Open transactions and master data move across. Full transaction history is usually retained in an archive or reporting store rather than migrated wholesale, which keeps the new system performant.

Is NAV to Business Central simpler?

Generally yes, particularly from recent NAV versions, though heavily customised NAV environments can be as involved as an AX upgrade.

Can you upgrade in phases?

Yes. Multi-entity groups often go live entity by entity, which reduces risk considerably.
